Attract bees, butterflies, and birds to your backyard with Sneezeweed (Helenium autumnale). Sneezeweed blooms late in the fall and pollinators seek out the cheerful yellow flowers. Plants can occasionally reach 5 feet tall, but are usually smaller. Late season bloomers are important to pollinating insects as they prepare for winter. A cheerful US native wildflower for pollinator and habitat gardens. 

Sneezeweed has large pollen grains and is pollinated by insects. It certainly does not cause hay-fever allergies. Native Americans ground the dried leaves and used them as a snuff, hence the name, ‘Sneezeweed.’ 

Plant outdoors Spring or Fall. Seeds will germinate when conditions are optimal. In good conditions, flowers appear the first year.
